Catalan club.
Luis Enrique summed up 2014 on Friday using a very particular Spanish vernacular that is best translated up as "amazing" or "excellent," but it will not have a very happy ending if his Barcelona side fail to beat lowly Cordoba on Saturday and put on a bit of a show for the Camp Nou crowd. The fact is Barca missed a great chance last weekend to put pressure on Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and finish 2014 on the top of the pile.
Their 0-0 draw with Getafe was a huge two points lost that could prove costly in the long run. Although the better side, Barcelona failed to produce enough chances to merit the win and now a home victory in the final game of the season will leave the Blaugrana lagging one point -- having played an extra game -- behind their biggest rival, who should be crowned Club World Cup champions on Saturday evening.
So while Enrique may see 2014 as being cojonudo, many Barca fans would differ in their opinion of a year that has seen their club slip behind both Madrid sides and struggle to produce their recognised style of play from recent seasons. Part of the reason for that lack of identity in Enrique's new Barca is not knowing which is the club's strongest starting XI, and that has to be down to Enrique's decision to makes changes to his side for all 23 of their games so far this season.
That figure will undoubtedly move to 24 on Saturday as Enrique is unlikely to play the XI that started the 8-1 victory over Huesca in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday. And while there are the obvious advantages of keeping all the squad happy and giving players plenty of rest, his constant tinkering is beginning to tire with some of the Camp Nou regulars.

Another showing like against Huesca will keep critics off Barcelona's back
Barcelona midfielder Xavi has expressed he'd like to follow his old Barcelona manager's, Pep Guardiola, footsteps and be a player and coach at the legendary
Catalan club.

Lionel Messi feeling mental, physical strain of years at top - Gerardo Martino
The ESPN FC panel discuss why Lionel Messi is not as popular in Argentina as some of his fellow countrymen after Angel Di Maria took home Argentina's Olimpia de Plata trophy.
Argentina coach Gerardo Martino has suggested that Lionel Messi is currently dealing with the mental and physical results of having been the focal point in so many games over the last decade for club and country.
Messi, 27, has already played over 500 senior club and international matches since making his Barcelona debut in October 2004 -- winning every trophy available with the Camp Nou club, and playing in three World Cups with Argentina.
The four-time Ballon d'Or winner was troubled by persistent muscle problems throughout the 2013-14 season, but has been fit enough to start all his club's La Liga and Champions League games so far this term.
Messi has scored 21 times in those 21 outings, but high-profile teammates including summer signing Luis Suarez have not been delivering nearly as often, and Barca have slipped four points behind leaders Real Madrid in the La Liga table.

Xavi is like a chess player, says Giggs
The Welshman has nothing but praise for the influential Barcelona midfielder, saying he is "two or three steps ahead of everybody else"
Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs has voiced his admiration for Barcelona midfielder Xavi and has compared his to a chess player for his quick thinking.
The ex-Spain international drew level with Giggs on 151 Champions League appearances including qualifying rounds following Barca's 4-0 win over APOEL on Tuesday and the Welshman feels honoured to share the record with Xavi.
"It is never nice to lose a record, but the fact that I'm now sharing it with someone of Xavi's calibre makes it a bit less bad," Giggs told Mundo Deportivo.
"Xavi is a bit like a chess player. He is always two or three steps ahead of everybody else. For me, he is one of the greatest players ever who played for one of the best teams ever.
"What surprised me most about him whenever I played against him was the way he protects the ball. He always keeps it far away from his opponents. He always seemed to make the perfect decision.
"He is a very intelligent player and always remains humble. He reminds me a bit of Paul Scholes."
Xavi has made the most appearances in the Champions League without qualifying rounds since the new format was introduced back in 1992. He has played 145 matches, one more than Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Frightful photo: Bird allegedy turns into woman at Oshodi
According to Twitter user, @davidTheGear, a few minutes ago at Oshodi, a bird fell from a high tension wire and landed on the ground and turned into a woman. The woman that the bird supposedly turned into had most of her skin peeled. Photo above. Can this be explained other than she's a witch?

Arsenal fans have mixed views as they prepare to face Cesc Fabregas
For a generation of Arsenal fans, watching Cesc Fabregas team up with Jose Mourinho is like seeing your first love marry the old school bully. However you feel about the initial breakup, the union still makes you feel slightly sick.
In recent years, Arsenal have become accustomed to facing off against former players. The parsimonious period after the move to the Emirates Stadium saw a host of stars leave for rival clubs.
The Gunners have been regularly haunted by familiar faces like Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie but, nevertheless, lining up against Fabregas will feel distinctly disconcerting.
When their Catalan captain went home to Barcelona in 2011, Arsenal fans consoled themselves with the thought that it would surely be the last major move of his career. After all, his insistence that Barcelona were the only other club he'd play for had prevented the Gunners from holding a lucrative auction for his services.

Champions League Is Tough, But We’ve Got Quality – Wojciech Szczesny
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits the
Gunners have been handed a tricky Champions
League group, but he is confident about their
ability to go far in the competition this term.
The Gunners have been drawn alongside Anderlecht,
Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray in Group D and
start their campaign tomorrow away in Germany
against Jurgen Klopp's men.
Arsenal have not managed to progress beyond the
Round of 16 for the last four years, crashing out
against AC Milan, Barcelona and Bayern Munich on
two occasions.
Szczesny knows his side have been handed a tough
group contest, but is sure there is the quality within
the ranks to put together a strong tilt at a trophy
Arsenal have never won.
"Over the last few years we've struggled with very
tough draws in the last 16 ", the Polish goalkeeper
said via his club's site.
"We've gone up against very strong teams and we've
struggled a little bit but hopefully we'll get to that
stage again - that's the most important thing again, to
get through the group stage" , he continued.
"We've got a very tough group so it won't be easy. I
think we've got a really strong squad that can
challenge for more trophies and more success in the
Champions League this season. Hopefully that will be
the case."
Arsenal are not being eased into the Champions
League, with Borussia Dortmund, the 2013 finalists,
providing their first opposition in the group stage.
messi: I don't want to comete with Ronaldo
The Argentine says he is not motivated by winning individual honours, explaining that he only wants to win titles at Barcelona, where he says is perfectly happy
Lionel Messi insists that he has no interest in competing with Cristiano Ronaldo for the title of the world's greatest player.
Having claimed the last six Ballon d'Or awards between them, the pair are regularly compared to one another, with their respective merits discussed at length by players, pundits and fans alike.
However, Messi insists that he has no interest in the perceived rivalry between the two, explaining that he is not driven by personal prizes - but club titles.
"Competing with Cristiano? I don't feel like competing with him or anyone else," he told reporters on Thursday. "It's not about individual awards; I want to help my team."
Messi's status as one of the finest players of all time has long been a subject of much debate, too, with some feeling that his failure to lead Argentina to World Cup glory this summer has undermined the argument that he ranks higher than Pele or Diego Maradona. Again, though, the 27-year-old is unconcerned by such matters.
"I don't think about my place in football history," Messi insisted. "I just want to keep getting better and win trophies with my team."
There was speculation last season that Messi was unhappy at Barcelona, who have not won the Champions League since 2011.
However, the forward insists that he did not think twice about signing a new contract with the club in May.
"Everything went very fast because it was easy," he stated. "I had no doubts about staying.
"This summer we have signed great players, who have adapted very fast to Barcelona. We have a great group now."
Messi also dismissed recent claims that he picks and chooses when he wants to represent Argentina, and that he was even considering his future at international level.
"There was some speculation, but I've been called up and I will continue to play with Argentina," the Rosario native declared.

Tiwa Savage Is "Wanted"
unequalled number of views on the clock, but the criticisms she got were also countless.
Wanted seems to have opened a can of worms on Tiwa’s morality. What however is not in doubt is that Tiwa gave the video her all. The only thing left was to bare it all.
The new video shows Tiwa like never seen before. Raw. Uncut. She looked caution in the eye. She was indeed found wanting. Wearing a brown breast tube and a piece of cloth seldom covering her sensitive parts, Tiwa goes on rampage. Bizarre. She went all out. Nude. Free for all.
Tiwa Savage in Wanted
What is however confounding is Tee Billz endorsement of the raunchy video. Tee Billz, Manager turned husband of Tiwa believes Wanted is purely artistic, comparable only to the best in the world.
But this is…Nigeria! Here, morality, decency and decorum are still virtues. There’s no doubt that sex sells. And in the evolving world, sex appeal sells even faster. While the western world cherishes nudity and readily brandishes it, much to the admiration of viewers, such culture rarely survives here. No. Not for long. Ask True Story singer, Timaya. He now knows better. The Nigerian society may be quick to embrace, but even quicker to rebuke.
*Tiwa Savage in Wanted
What is however unclear is that neither Tee Bills nor Tiwa have full grasp of her listenership. Lest, one would be quick to ask: what was Tiwa thinking? Art? Displaying such raunchiness? It’s hard to see.
While art readily provides one with a means of expression, it breathes freedom. Art may be a mere reflection after all, but it reveals the inner self of one. Is Wanted Tiwa’s reflection? Tee billz may be privy to Tiwa’s privacy, but the Tiwa we see, at least from the outside, is a blazing star. Not a soft porn star

Tiwa Savage in Wanted
Shouldn’t Tee Billz be taken aback that the raunchy video came on the heels of his marriage? No. He’s preoccupied with breeding the best stereotype. Yet, he forgets that it was Tiwa’s sonorous voice and originality that endeared her. Not nudity.
Tiwa Savage has merely just started, as she says. She may just be baring it all next time out. But is she not a wonderful singer with her clothes on?

Here Are 11 Things The Government Is Actually Doing To Stop A Zombie Apocalypse
The Pentagon has a plan to save you from zombies. Seriously.
CONPLAN 8888, also known as “Counter-Zombie Dominance,” was unclassified today and obtained by Foreign Policy. The document is 31 pages long and reads like a much crazier outline for “World War Z,” incorporating everything from the occult and chicken zombies to space alien zombies. This thing could fuel Hollywood with movie ideas through 2020.
As crazy as it all sounds, it’s not a joke, which is evidenced by the first line of report, “This plan was not actually designed as a joke.” The plan was originally compiled as a training exercise in composing such disaster plans, and was made so ridiculous that it wouldn’t be confused with a real guide if it ever leaked to the general public. Which, we have to say, is pretty ingenious. CONPLAN 8888 reads like a really good zombie novel, equal parts hilarious and terrifying.
Without further ado, here are 11 of the most incredible ways the U.S. government plans to stop the zombie apocalypse. Brad Pitt is not one of them. Yes, we’re bummed too.
1. Stop Chicken Zombies
The plan covers all types of zombies, from “Evil Magic Zombies” to “Space Zombies” to “Vegetarian Zombies,” but most terrifying of all are “Chicken Zombies.” Why? Because they actually exist. Hens are euthanized by farmers after they can’t lay eggs anymore, but sometimes aren’t quite dead and claw their way to the surface.
Thanks, Pentagon. There goes our dinner.
10. Establish Martial Law To Kill Robot Zombies
Well, any apocalypse movie aficionado could’ve told you that one, guys. As the report states, “Given the likelihood of an all-out threat to ‘human survival’, it is likely that this plan will be executed concurrently with a declaration of martial law within CONUS and U.S. territories.” In case the zombies are actually “robotic-organic” entities, you don’t have to worry about the law: just kill them however you can.
9. Zombie WMDs
Phase 1 of the plan states that, though zombies cannot be reasoned with, the government would first have to deter other nations from creating zombies, which would just be really frustrating, so don’t do it, guys.
8. The Laws Don’t Apply To Zombies
One of the big parts of a zombie apocalypse is that the zombies won’t play by the rules, and this plan makes it so that humans don’t have to, either. The plan specifically states that the Law Of Armed Combat, or LOAC, “will not apply to zombies.” So all those fantasies you’ve had about killing zombies with every household appliance imaginable? Those are not only legal, but encouraged. Congrats!
7. Burning Zombie Corpses
The plan explicitly states that the only way a zombie can be stopped is by destroying the brain stem, but it goes one step further by recommending the burning of all zombie corpses. One scary note: “EMZs are the only class of zombie that may not be vulnerable to this measure.” An EMZ is, of course, an “Evil Magic Zombie,” and duh, we know you can’t kill magic zombies with fire. Maybe we can just drop pianos on them.
6. Bad News For Atheists
Atheists better hope against the “Evil Magic Zombie” scenario, because the government will not only have to employ the Chaplain Corps to combat that threat, but the plan states that “atheists could be particularly vulnerable to EMZ threats.” Luckily, there are no atheists in zombie holes.
5. Use Hand Sanitizer
This is a great plan for two reasons. One, since most sanitizers say they kill 99 percent of bacteria, it might slow the progress of the virus. Two, it’s just good hygiene. Sure, 90 percent of the population might be dead, but at least we’ll be sanitary.
4. In Case of Emergency, Nuke ‘Em All
As a last ditch measure, the government will “employ nuclear weapons within CONUS to eradicate zombie hordes.”
3. Sandbags
Wait, what? The plan calls for a lot of no-brainer protective great, like barbed wire, mines, chemical agents and petroleum to create flame barriers (the plan clearly forgetting about the magic zombies’ immunity to flames). In addition, there’s those reliable zombie stoppers: sandbags.
This might slow down zombie Anakin Skywalker who, as everyone knows hates sand. It’s coarse, and it gets everywhere.
2. Strengthen Health Care
The plan recognizes that countries with better health care will recover more quickly and therefore be more able to curb the zombie threat.
Can someone tell us the rates of a zombie Obamacare package?
1. Comic Books And Movies Will Now Be “Intelligence”
To the delight of nerds everywhere, the guide states that officials will have to assume “worst-case scenarios derived from popular culture (books, movies, comic books)” will “adequately model zombie threats.”
See? It only took a real-but-fake plan for a hypothetical zombie apocalypse that might involve magic zombies to make our love of “The Walking Dead” practical. Take that, Mom and Dad!
