Champions League Is Tough, But We’ve Got Quality – Wojciech Szczesny

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits the Gunners have been handed a tricky Champions League group, but he is confident about their ability to go far in the competition this term. The Gunners have been drawn alongside Anderlecht, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray in Group D and start their campaign tomorrow away in Germany against Jurgen Klopp's men. Arsenal have not managed to progress beyond the Round of 16 for the last four years, crashing out against AC Milan, Barcelona and Bayern Munich on two occasions. Szczesny knows his side have been handed a tough group contest, but is sure there is the quality within the ranks to put together a strong tilt at a trophy Arsenal have never won. "Over the last few years we've struggled with very tough draws in the last 16 ", the Polish goalkeeper said via his club's site. "We've gone up against very strong teams and we've struggled a little bit but hopefully we'll get to that stage again - that's the most important thing again, to get through the group stage" , he continued. "We've got a very tough group so it won't be easy. I think we've got a really strong squad that can challenge for more trophies and more success in the Champions League this season. Hopefully that will be the case." Arsenal are not being eased into the Champions League, with Borussia Dortmund, the 2013 finalists, providing their first opposition in the group stage.
